...but this one just holds a special spot in my heart. I found an old VCR tape (!) back in the day once, and as I plopped it in, this cop show came on. I figured it was older than me, cus, you know, people looked orange and stuff. Maybe that was also the VCR - good thing we have Blu-Ray these days. In any case, i was totally watching Adam 12. And I only realized this just now. so here goes, for the sake of my childhood memories - go out and support those that inspired me to be a detective when I grow up.
I mean, just LOOK at those bad motherf*ckers. I even found the trailer. GAH - why can't TV be this awesome all the time.
War, remember that band? they wrote that song that everyone thought was written by Cheech and Chong - that's right "Low Rider" - and some other stuff too. I bet you know all their other songs too - Cisco Kid, damn straight, been doing laps in my brain all week. I'll get to the point. They are coming out with a super long awaited Live album (first ever) and it's also the first thing they've put outin FOURTEEN years. like, wow! This will be out in all sorts of formats, including Blu-Ray.
She's not brand new on the scene and she is definitely starting to leave her mark.
Check it: "Armed with a voice that weaves seamlessly between being fierce and vulnerable, L.P. can captivate an audience with a single note, and turn a crowd of strangers into rabid fans with just one song. Nothing iterates this point better than the story of SXSW 2006 where her live performance inspired a label bidding war. This ultimately led to her being signed by LA Reid himself to Island Records. While L.P. says it’s “nice” that she inspired the competition, the singer ultimately walked away from the deal with her songs in hand, the material that will be included on her forthcoming album on SoBe Entertainment."
She lives in Brooklyn. So do I. I'm going to to track her down. I mean, just listen. Stirring.
